Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Caps & Taps. Pours clear brown with a creamy, beige head. Medium sweet flavour, nice sturdy roast, dark chocolate, gooey pine, ripening oranges. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Nicely rounded finish, well toasted malts, burnt toast, bittersweet cocoa, more piney notes, citrus fruits, a little burnt marshmallow. Solid.

Can from Vine and Grain. Appearance - deep brown to black. Tan fluffy head. Nose - pine, lime, coffee and chocolate. Taste - coffee, malt loaf, just a hint of pine and citrus this time. Palate - medium bodied, roasty and zesty finish. Overall - more of a hopped stout than a black IPA but very tasty all the same.

Taste is full of depth, the spelt really adds a lovely grainy, malty character, chocolate, cocoa, coffee. Delicious and differentiated BIPA, lovely stuff
