Brewed in the tradition of Scotch Ales, thus beer has similar flavors characteristic of this style, all the while being lighter and less strong in alcohol. The oats give the beer complexity and a characteristic cereal taste.
Formerly called "Farfadet".

Dieu du Ciel, Montreal tap: Pours an ugly murky brown. Aroma is malts and tons of them. Taste is almost slightly sour, weirdly so. Plenty of malts of course. Not that much in the way of sugar. I finished this quickly because I did not find it to be all that pleasant. I usually like this style, but this... not so much.

Originally rated Novermber 2008. Enjoyed at the brewpub itself (written "ale écossaise à l’avoine" beside its title on the chalkboard). Poured a cloudy beige-brown colour with a caramel malt nose and a touch of maple syrup. The mouthfeel was watery with a little fizz. Grainy malt taste with a mild hoppiness in the finish. Very interesting brew that is a great session ale. Refreshing and tasty.

Draught, 5.4% at the brewpub. Weak roasted aroma. Muddy amber colour. Smalltan head. The flavour is roasted. Has a faint berry hint. Not sweet. A bit rougher than expected.
