Hefeweizen. This refreshing Bavarian style wheat beer is a real Bad Seed. It was one of the first beers to break the Reinheitsgebot, the strict German purity laws. Rules about beer are silly, and we love the delicious taste of rebellion.

Bottle shared with Sarah at home. Pours clear light yellow / straw coloured pour with a thin lasting white head. Poured in some of the yeast. Aroma is doughy wheaty malts, little zesty and fresh, rubeer, little clove phenol. Fresh and light straw on the nose. Flavour is crisp, clean light malts, wheat, carbonic acid bite. Palate is light refreshing, bit thin, high carbonation. Ok hefe. Nowt special.

Bottle picked up by Lynn & Barry (cheers both) consumed at home, Sunday 7th December 2014. Pours a true hefeweizen colour and look, hazy with lovely clean white head, nose is spritzy, zippy and clean. A tiny bit sweet, gassy, bit burpy and refreshing, lovely wheaty back end. Soft in mouth a little creamy vanilla ice cream, lovely but I know if drinking in the summer I would rate it even higher. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden amber with nae heid. Nose - looking for banana and eventually I find a tried banana. Taste - more dried banana, quite malt dominated and lacking in sweet wheat notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a tangy finish. Overall - not a hefe but decent.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Hazy dirty pale gold with a touch of orange colour. Thick ivory colour head. Some vegetable on a light estery hefe aroma. Ok in the mouth. But I feel that itโs a bit safe. Not too estery, not too intense in the flavour. Good hops on the finish that are leafy and balanced and rather attractive. But itโs a bit safe as I say. Doesnโt push the hefe envelope. A bit like an apa with a hefe yeast. Lacks excitement but the flavours that are there are absolutely fine and some elements are quite attractive.

Keg @ Earl of Essex. Pours hazy yellow. Decent spicy hefe, some banana, orange pith, vanilla, slight cloves.. although a little sharp and not quite as creamy as Iโd liked. Still, rather nice though.
