ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. Sampled bottled. amber orange, little head. Nose is extremely peated oil, bergamot oil, medicinal oil. Taste is just peated oil, rosemary, peated hop oil, medicinal, chemical, almost vegetable, extremely weird. Body is hugely oily. Interesting for peat heads I assume, I found it to be just extremely weird.

Small yellowish rim over clear red-copper beer. Intense spicy nose, shoepolish, juniperberry (probably the bog myrtle), and Rauchmalz. Nutty, spicy, cardamom, bit of sovent, spruce, caramel. Very complex, and the smoked malt helping again, without overpowering. Light to medium bodied, very long lasting flavours. Special. Here classified as "smoked" (which it is, no doubt), but IMHO, it is the spice, the Myrica Gale, as mentioned on the label, which explains the real complexity.

Sampled from tap at ACBF 2017. Clear, golden amber with a beige head. Sweetish, very smoky aroma of caramel, lots of smoked ham and juniper. Slightly sweetish, a bit dry, very smoky and spicy taste of caramel, smoked ham, juniper and hints of peat, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, very smoky and spicy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Clear amber red beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very spicy, rosemary, apothecary, peated, smoky, weird. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: WTF? This is very weird, peated, overly spiced, rosemary, malty, bitter. Aftertaste: grassy, spicy bitterness, peated, dried fruits, bitter, meh.
