7th July 2018, cask, gravity poured half-pint in the back yard of The Boars Head, Bishops Castle. Beer festival in all the towns six pubs, plus the town hall. Lovely Stout this, black with a tanned blanket on top. Huge coffee aroma and taste, light vanilla and chocolate notes are a side line with the coffee flavours really dominating everything.

07/03/17 at Mr Bumble, Blackwater. Rich aroma - initially I was thinking chocolate coated coffee beans, but my mate then hit the nail on the head with ’selection box coffee cream’. Floral too. Dark. A thick creamy head. Scoring well so far. In terms of taste a tartness is most noticeable, this carries through in to the finish. However there are also mocha undertones. Medium bodies. Too watery for my liking. Soft carbonation. A decent attempt. Could do with more coffee and less tart.

From keg at Oddfellows, half-pint, shared with Finn. Stable off-white head blanketing the glass. Deep black-brown body. Inviting aromas of coffee and cocoa. Fine mix of coffee and chocolate to the taste buds, hints of lactose. Rounded malty ending. Smooth. Pleasant, easy drinking stout (Pub crawl in Exeter, 28.09.2016).

Keg @ Old Bank, Bradford. Extremely dark red with a thick creamy off-white head. This crisp keg ale is packed with an extremely appealing mix of coffee and chocolate malts in both its aroma and taste. Both characteristics are well stated.
