Our cold filtration process enables us to brew specialist craft keg beers of outstanding flavour and character. No better example is our Barista Stout which we have developed to highlight the harmonious flavour of coffee blended with malted barley. We cold filter our beers rather than pasteurise in order to protect the truly unique flavour. This enables the promotion of mouth-watering coffee aroma and flavour on a bed of rich full-bodied malt with hints of dark berry fruit hop in our incredibly popular Barista Stout.

Pour is a thick black with a large tan head. Aroma is Hershey's chocolate syrup. Flavor is a thin roasted dry but sweet malt. Some coffee bitterness without the coffee flavor. Finish is again dry but leaves a bit of chocolate sweetness on the tongue. Thin moutfeel but there is enough here to like. The aroma was better then the flavor.

Can, best before Jan 2027, drunk Apr 24, 2026.
Really soft with no bitter/dark/stale coffee character. Fruity, with chocolate and vanilla notes. Great clarity and balance in the nose. Suggests a healthy base malt character, as well.
Decent base malt character. Could be a bit more rich, but this is only 4.2%. Like the nose, it's soft and elegant with no stale/bitter/dark coffee. Just fruity, dainty roast with lots of chocolate and light vanilla notes, as well. Not thin, but a good watery drinkability with excellent flavor.
Nice to finally try another beer from Theakston. Didn't try the recent cans that hit the US of Old Peculiar because I'd rather have the nostalgia than the probable reality, but this is a fine beer, if rather filtered and simple.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Flavour with the same elements, but not as sweet as the aroma made me fear. Interesting brew.
