(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours very hazy deep gold with a decent white head and moderate lace. Aroma of dank ripe mango, tangerine, grapefruit, pit fruit-inflected white grape, some slightly peppery/spicy herbal and grassy tones, maybe a little pineapple. Flavour is nicely off-dry, again sticky mangoes and tangerine/navel orange citrusy juiciness, some sweetened lemon, white grape, soft florals, the leafy freshness of Nelson with a soft peppery dank pineapple Citra kick, malt is very retiring and lightly bready, fairly dry finish with rather low bitterness, slightly spicy grapefruit peels, white grape and mango flesh with some grass in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied, slightly oily, soft smooth carbonation. The DDH treatment definitely ups the spicier, zestier notes vs. my recollection of the OG Caligula but it's a wholly pleasant version itself. Hopefully BdBC continues to make both!

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy bright yellow color ale with medium size white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy floral notes with some juicy notes with some dry leafy hops notes. Taste is a mix of citrusy hoppy floral undertones with some juicy notes, some residual sugar. Body is very full with medium carbonation. Enjoyable but a little bit heavier than I was expecting.

Can that pours a hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy white cap, decent stay and some nice dirty lacing. Citrus aromas, grassiness and some sweet-fruity pineapple notes. Even hints of spiciness. The taste shows the citrus (oranges, lemons) zestiness, lingering some tart and dryness. The background juiciness is there. Not overly dry for dry-hopped, but one that builds way after the sip is gone. Quite nice and refreshing all-around.

A hazed orange DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, tropical fruit, light dank notes, very nice. In mouth, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, light alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Hautes Plaines location.
