Dark brown. No head. Aroma doesn't really go anywhere, just sort of a thin chocolate syrup. On the palate, it's got good body. Lots of chocolate, that's the main theme. Has a bitterness that sort of clashes a bit with the malts.

473mL can, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma has rich roasted malt, sprinkles, some lactose, vanilla, and cocoa. Flavour has plenty of sprinkles, moderate roasted malt, and a touch of cocoa. Nice roast base, but there’s not much complexity and the sprinkles and other adjuncts create a semi-artificial and gimmicky flavour profile. It’s alright but nothing special.

473mL can. Pours black with a small beige head. Chocolate, vanilla, and, suprisingly, some sprinkles on the nose. Flavour has tons of sugars, lots of milk chocolate, some vanilla. It's okay, but it's still pretty gimmicky.

Black colour, small head. Aroma of dark caramel, burn sugar, alcohol, hint of cacao. Lean mouthfeel, sugars, but not very sweet; it has massive burnt sugar flavour, strong cacao, touch of salt, of petrol, and moderate alcohol.
Good, but it feels like it would need some more sugar.

A deep dark stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, light vanilla, pleasant. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark fruits, vanilla, alcohol warmth, pleasant.

500ml @ SalesForce. Appearance: almost black with a beige head. Aroma: chocolate, lacto sweetness. Taste: along the same lines, tastes like a liquid cake, moderately sweet, some roasty character that is nicely balanced by the sweetness. Overall: good pastry.

Dec 30, 2024 (7/4/8/4/16=3.9; 4th anniversary release; thanks beerplace): Poured from 473mL can. More or less the same description, but they've amped up the chocolate a bit giving it a bit more body. Decent. Oct 15, 2021 (7/3/8/3/16=3.7): Poured from 500mL bottle. Near black with tiny ring of tan head. Mild chocolate, general sugar sweetness, light booze. Fine, but nothing special, lacks depth.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate notes with some fudge notes and some residual sugar notes. Taste is also dominated by huge fudge notes with some residual sugar notes and chocolate. Body is full with a nice creamy/oily texture and godo carbonation with light alcohol notes. Solid pastry stout with balanced flavors.
