An American Oud Bruin, open-fermented and barrel-aged in fresh pinot noir barrels, then finished in brandy barrels and naturally carbonated with wildflower honey.
EL CUATRO is made of barley and caramel malts co-mingling with lactobacillus and brettanomyces. After brewing and conditioning, the beer is transferred into brandy & whiskey barrels to age for over a year during an extended Brettanomyces Lambicus fermentation. Prior to bottling, the beer is blended with a small portion of year-old SAHALIE. The only hops added to this beer arrive from the aged SAHALIE. The brandy barrels and wild yeast fermentation give EL CUATRO a plum & cherry fruitiness balanced by the slight toast of the malt body.

Bottle courtesynof GT2, thanks! Cloudy yellow color, white head. Aroma of feet and lemons. Tastenis softly sour citrus with a sweet start.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Colin Theydon for this one. Pretty hazy gold - amber beer. Little pale cream coloured head. Softish palate, semi dry. Light carbonation. Light seltzer minerals. Nice mango syrup, as if poured from a can of tinned mango. A little fresh orange. Very light sourness and white wine. Whisper of vanilla. Light dry finish. An approachable sour which drinks well below it’s abv.

Bottle at Bruces, from TGG Bend, 31/07/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is vinous, tarte apricots, bitter orange, light funk, subtle burnt citric fruit notes. Taste comprises tarte orange, soured apricots, lemon rind, light boozey tones, funky notes, grassy farmy light earthy notes. Medium bodied with a little oomph, fine carbonation, dry finish, The alchohol is very well integrated or a double digit affair - great work!

Bottle at Bruce’s, many thanks to Colin. It pours cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. The nose is hay, floral, orange, sour apricot, peach, mild sourness, sherbet, yoghurt, vanilla and light coconut. The taste is sour apricot, peach, nectarine, pleasant sourness, sherbet, hay, floral, touch of vinegar, butternut squash and some alcohol warmth. Medium body, high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Hides abv rather well. Very well-integrated flavour. Great stuff!

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Huge thanks to Colin for providing yet another beer from this fine brewery. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a foamy white head. Nice sour, lightly acidic lemon in the nose, hints of peach. Light sweet flavor, good funk,some ripe lemon, light semi-dry dough, subtle, light brett, sweat. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more lemon and peach, some tangerine, soft dough. Very smooth for the strength. Nice nuance.
