Draught at the brewery, 7/1/16.
Pale, brassy-golden body shows a light to moderate amount of haze and a medium-sized white head atop with moderate to moderately-strong retention.
Tons of varied citrus combines with base malts to give a balanced, but still quite hoppy impression in the nose. Lychee, ruby red grapefruit, light pineapple and some spicier, dank notes all show a good amount of complexity with little/no resin, which is an impressive feet given the hops used here. Some minerality and fresh yeast and no alcohol or flaw.
Good bitterness opens up the flavor, with light pine being quickly replaced by juicy citrus, nectarine, strong minerality and a healthy dose of base malt sweetness to balance. Soft, malty texture and tight carbonation. No alcohol or flaw. Less juicy and NE-ish than New England gangster, obviously, but it’s shockingly good in its own right, with lime, dry lychee, wintergreen and tons of spiciness. So it is possible to make a really good IPA with these older style hops.....

Draft at the source. Cloudy orange/ gold color with a thin cap of white head. Light ring of head, little retention. Aroma is very floral with herbs and light notes of resin. Extremely dry and bitter texture. The taste is crisp with minerals, grapefruit, passion fruit, kumquat, pine and light floral notes. Lefty wet hops. When it warms up, lots of complex hop flavors from all the different varieties used. This is above average and well worth a stop in. Get it before it is gone hop heads!
