Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Nose doughy bread in the nose, yeast, some citrus rind. Medium sweet flavor with nips of honey, pale bread, lemon peel, more dough, light alcohol. Full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with some sugary pale malts, yeast, mild citrus. Tasty. Good and drinkable.

Draught at the brewery, 1/23/16.
Minimally hazy, pale-golden body shows modest carbonation and a medium-sized white head that fades quickly to cover.
Strong bubble gum and citrus in the nose and less pepper phenols than I’d prefer. Not sure that there are any beers that I want bubble gum esters from. Maybe a bit of it in a witbier but certainly not in a trippel. Otherwise, it’s quite dry-seeming from the nose, with herbal accents, vanilla, delicate honey and light orange rind. Alcohol is well-concealed and there are no flaws.
Very light-bodied for a trippel, with high attenuation and just a touch of honey and biscuit character leftover from the malts. Bubble gum and lightly bitter citrus character don’t do much for me, though I will applaud the drinkability and no sign of its 8.5% abv. A little husky and heavy-handed with the clove on the finish, with light grassy character as well. Lightly carbonated.
