Old Mission is a dry, crisp and delicate pilsner with the light floral, white wine and gooseberry notes that characterize Nelson Sauvin hops. Named after a peninsula that splits Grand Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan, where we grew up--a land of vineyards, orchards and brilliant blue water

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: golden yellow color with a sly transparency about it; three finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet straw/hay to wet grains; white grapes, light lemon and a super light note of dark berries
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet malty rounded quality; finishes crisp with a little bit of a dry edge and subtle white grapes
Texture: medium bodied, very sessionable; pretty smooth along the tongue and a light touch of some of the white grape-like hop notes engage the tongue slightly but nothing overbearing
Overall: nicely done lager and I guess this was supposed to be one of those "modernized pilseners," right? No worries, as I would return to this.

Can. Pours straw gold. Straw, grain, bit of barnyard, hefty hay notes, little white grape and lemon stuff. Medium body. Fine.

Flute at Shelter pours a clear gold with plenty of sticky, clingy white head. Nose has some fruit and honey and sweet herbs, perfume. Doesn't smell like a pilsner. Flavor is nice, light grain and honey, some light tropical fruits, perfume, sweet herbs. There is some grist and yeast. Finishes dry, good mouthfeel, easy drinker.

Interesting brew here. Light gold pour. Nose is herbal and floral. Tastes of crackers, herbs, lemons, toothpaste, hay. Funky finish. Dry.

Pours clear gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes leaving scant sheets to mottle surface. Wet straw, lemon and hay aromas. Soft with sourdough and hay upfront turning to peel and pith in the lasting earthy finish.

Draught at the brewery, 3/23/18.
Clear golden-brass with a sizeable, white head showing moderately-strong retention.
Nose is a bit odd. Some spice and leaf but lots of earth and dust, as well as a bit of resin. No real distinct hop, just seems like typical PNW IPA bittering. Dry, cracker-like malts are clean and snappy, otherwise, with no flaw or alcohol.
In the mouth it's dry, well-carbonated and engaging with a malty, biscuity-to-grainy texture. Again, though, I get that vague, American hop bitterness and not much, if any, interesting hop character. Leafy, earthy, lightly spicy bitterness trails off leaving light astringency on the finish.

6 oz. draft at Schilling. Clear golden appearance. Aroma is light pils malt, mild yeast, the lightest Nelson tone. Palate is very clean with a light bitterness. Quality without a question.
