Bottle at Novare Res, 12/29/17 and 4/21/18.
Great clarity, dark amber-maize with light auburn hues and a large, butter-colored head that steadily recedes to ring.
Cherry, melanoidin, raisin and other interesting notes are formed from the interplay of specialty malts and souring agents. Good acidity showing moderate to strong lactic and light acetic notes. Remains fruity and vibrant with black cherry and peach emerging.
Good brace of sourness with tangy, vibrant fruits. Cherry, peach and strong raisin. Picks up good tannin and lots of woody dryness, yet never succumbs to too much specialty malt breadiness/huskiness. Caramel-vanilla and cherry-like acetic notes give a pleasant sweet-and-sour punch on the finish. Soft-to-slick, malty texture, great attenuation and low, tight carbonation. A sour for sure, but a great one at that.

500 ml. Spilt 3 ways from Novare Res.Darker brown color with no head. Aroma is strong in barrel, Funky Bretty notes, some sharp vinegar. The flavor again shows a good barrel character with a heavy vinegar note. A tad more than I want in any style of beer. Lactobacillis is no doubt all up in here.
