Crown And Crate brings together raw wildflower honey straight from Massachusetts hives with milk sugar to create a unique and luxurious double IPA. The name is derived from the merger of royal queen bees and old-school milk crates. For this new variant, we've sourced Congo vanilla, which we've found to offer a unique and creamy, fruit-forward flavor profile that pairs beautifully with Mosaic and Citra hops.
Pouring a soft canary yellow color, Congo Vanilla Crown And Crate's opaque, glowing haze prepares the senses for an array of citrus and tropical aromas. The palate opens with a wash of pineapple sorbet, candied mango, and honeysuckle, each sip rounded out by a creamy vanilla character and touch of sweetness. Plush and medium-bodied, Congo Vanilla Crown And Crate finishes with just a touch of grapefruit-like bitterness.

Can shared at Free Beer tasting. Hazy orange golden. Sweet malts, orange candy, massive vanilla, cheesecake, peach. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Disgusting.

Can at home shared with Laura. Hazy yellow color, medium to full sized white head. Aroma is horrible: over the top vanilla, dairy and sweet. Flavor is similar and sweet, but slightly less bad. There's actually something slightly hoppy in there. But other than that, bleh. Crappy. Very crappy.

Can 473ml @ yngwie. Pours murky golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, milk chocolate, vanilla, mango, white chocolate and hint of passionfruit. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long malty, vanilla, honey, creamy, fruity and super smooth finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. This taste more like a drink than what it expected of an IPA.

Can. An unclear orange colored beer with a small, dense, off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma has lots of vanilla, sweet milk chocolate, or perhaps mango filled white chocolate truffles, along with tropical fruityness, orange and a wee hint of pale malts. It's smooth and full-bodied, very gently bittered and seems to be sweet, even though it's really not. Orange, grapefruit hint, some tropical notes and a good dash of vanilla and honey-like flowers. Some alcohol show up too. Lasting sweetish finish with lots of fruityness. Really smooth this one, tasteful too, but except for the carbonation this reminds me more of a fancy coctail than a beer.
