Crown And Crate brings together raw wildflower honey straight from Massachusetts hives with milk sugar to create a unique and luxurious double IPA. The name is derived from the merger of royal queen bees and old-school milk crates. For this new variant, we've sourced Congo vanilla, which we've found to offer a unique and creamy, fruit-forward flavor profile that pairs beautifully with Mosaic and Citra hops.

Pouring a soft canary yellow color, Congo Vanilla Crown And Crate's opaque, glowing haze prepares the senses for an array of citrus and tropical aromas. The palate opens with a wash of pineapple sorbet, candied mango, and honeysuckle, each sip rounded out by a creamy vanilla character and touch of sweetness. Plush and medium-bodied, Congo Vanilla Crown And Crate finishes with just a touch of grapefruit-like bitterness.

On tap at international beer bar zürich. Intense stuff - malty, rather sweet, noticeable lactose, crazy vanilla. Not easy drinking but good.

Hoppy and creamy. The vanilla blasts you right away, followed by pineapple and orange. More vanillin than vanilla, a bit peppery. Would be far better without it.

On tap @ Ghetto Something. Aroma is lactic, honeyish and tropical fruity. Pours hazy pale golden color with large soapy off-white head and good lacing. Tastes as tropical fruity milkshake with honey and vanilla, while finish is average bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Congo fun…

Draught Fort Point, 12/12/21. Heavily hazy, drab brass-pineapple. Small, quickly fading, white head. Big vanilla, light lactose creaminess and softer, juicy hops. Bright and yet softly creamy. Pine, orange, grapefruit, sweet vanilla and heavy cream. Works pretty well, maybe a touch less lactose/vanilla would be preferable, personally, to allow more hop juiciness. As is, there's plentiful pony bitterness to balance but it creates a very stark dynamic of sweet and bitter. Still, the malty soft palate and good attenuation makes it pretty easily drinkable and you can't really fault a milkshake IPA for being ok lactose forward.
