Beginning near Roxbury's Nubian Square, Blue Hill Ave runs south down to Canton where it ends at the door of the Blue Hills Reservation, just over a mile from our restaurant and taproom at 100 Royall Street. The beer named in its honor features a substantial addition of one of our favorite PNW hops in Simcoe.

Blue Hill Ave pours a warm, golden yellow with a moderate soft haze. A mouthwatering swell of citrus dominates the aroma upfront, washing over the palate with notes of tangelo juice, sugar-dusted grapefruit slices, and lemon zest. As the glass opens, Simcoe shows its complexity, conjuring supporting notes of preserved peach, fresh pine needles, and a touch of tropical fruit salad. Medium-bodied with a fluffy mouthfeel, Blue Hill Ave finishes semi-dry with a mild and balanced bitterness.

Pours murky pear into a nonic. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Mangosteen and lychee aromas. Soft with tangerine and lime upfront turning to sweet golden syrup before the dry, lasting pine, pith and peel finish.

Pours a hazy, orange-pineapple, with minimal head. Aroma is juicy citrus and over-ripe tropical fruit. Flavors largely follow, with a mid-level of hoppy bitterness that expands through the finish. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. ABV well-hidden. Typical Trillium awesomeness!

4 pack canned 8/25/21, drunk over the course of the following week.
Moderately-to-heavily hazy, dull brass-bronze with a medium-sized white head that fully dissipates rather quickly.
Great juiciness in the nose has an undercurrent of more aggressive/resinous/pine-slanted character from the Simcoe, but they've done a great job of keeping a pretty aggressive hop contained here. Some sweat and light sour-like hop notes continue with warming. Mostly free from any alcohol, with no flaw.
Juicy initially, but drying heavily due to hop acidity and/or alcohol. Light sweat, sour hop dulls the brightness, but there is still plentiful juiciness, white grape and white grapefruit. Soft, malty texture and very dry with engaging, low carbonation and no flaw. Some alcohol warming. Again, not my favorite hop and a pretty tough sell to try to highlight it for an NEIPA, but they've done an admirable job here.
