Tasting at Matt's, bottle
Dark brown colour. Aroma of smoke, burnt wood, maybe burnt rubber. Full bodied, sweet; strong chocolate flavour, vanilla, caramel, nuts, and warming alcohol.
Very good.

Medium brown. The aroma has a big pecan character, and abundant bourbon as well. On the palate, it's not quite as complex. Fruity, pecan, light bourbon, and sticky sweet. The rich raisiny character gives it some depth. Ok, that's pretty good.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of toasted pecans, some bourbon barrels, and burnt sugars. Flavour is moderately sweet and syrupy, with a strange pecan character, gentle bourbon, and burnt sugars. Lots of burnt sugars, subtle bourbon, lots of syrupy character. Not very complex or integrated. This is subpar for Bottle Logic but still pleasant enough.

2022 vintage draught at brewery, 12/8/22. Clear, dark auburn with magenta. Small, tan head to ring. Not all that much nose...fruity and with dark chocolate and licorice. Clean, not too boozey. Yeah there's the licorice too, big in flavor. Hmm that's a bit too young, I guess as there's a touch of alcohol here. Chocolate, brandy, pecan, alcohol and syrupy caramel ending on light acidity, licorice, hot fruit ester and caramel. Still nothing to scoff at, but not as refined and even as some of the stuff that has been in barrel for longer. Also the brandy barrel is sharper than your average whiskey barrel.
