Undated can, I think fairly old (6-12 months), from the shelf at Fort Point Market, drunk 8/31/22. Ebony, undetermined clarity. Tan head immediately fizzles to edge. Fudge, alcohol, coffee-like roast and, thankfully, minimal coconut. Worried how much black licorice and dry, alcohol-like character there is (though conversely, it's not a sugar bomb, it seems). Indeed, not too sweet. Dry up front with cherry-chocolate, fudge and caramel turning to fruity cacao and coconut and gaining some rich, sticky sweetness. Nothing jumping out dominantly here, nor does it come off alcoholic or too sharp/dry at any points in the flavor. Lingering cacao, fudge and caramel. I suspect this having been brewed at 12 Percent goes a long way to its quality, as opposed to most that are contracted out of Dorchester. But I still have to test that hypotheses.

On tap at Ginger Man NYC. Pours almost black with a tan head. Almond Joy aroma (coconut, chocolate, almonds.) Taste follows nose. Sweet finish.

Can pour from Fort Point Market. Appearance is opaque inky black with trace sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width fizzy light brown head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and molasses. Taste is strong roasted malt, molasses, chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with creamy smooth texture, soft carbonation and sweet finish as taste. Overall, not getting the coconut but nice, strong flavors and a decadent mouthfeel. Liked it!

Draught @ Beer Run (2/3/20). Opaque dark brown with very small frothy dark beige head, that is basically a ring, sweet dark chocolate-rum aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter dark chocolate taste, woodsy flavor, strong alcohol undertones, smooth body, long medium bitter finis with faint coconut aftertaste. Quite potent.
