Syrupy, boozy, a bit sweet. Toffee and caramel, vanilla, bourbon, licorice root in the finish. Surprisingly dry, fairly strong and heavy. Very nice.

Magus, karamelline, alkone, burboonine, vahtrasiirup, veits põletab, mõru, nats siirup. Ok, vaat on ikka väga tugev.

Rated at Badassriver Beer Lodge Platinum Edition. Smooth and slightly roasty with some bourbon, toffee, caramel and syrup, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Tasty

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is tobacco, wood, toffee, licorice, raisin, bourbon. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, balanced, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

750 ml bottle. Thanks to Clark and Tom’s Brother -in- law. Flavor has a lot here. Flavor has raisins, prune, fig with plenty of Willett rye. Good mouthfeel with a thick texture. Bourbon lasts through the sip. Lots of dark fruit.

Bottle pour shared by Clark VV--thanks, Clark! It's an opaque black with nice viscosity. Aroma is strong spicy rye, bourbon over milder caramel and dark fruit. Taste is strong spicy rye and bourbon over milder caramel, oak. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, more barrel than base and good, but I wish the base shined through a bit more.

750mL thanks to Tfontana's brother-in-law for muling this. Drunk 4/22/23. Dark cocoa, undetermined clarity (unclear i think), with a light tan head to ring. Yeah, there are some PNW hops here, which is just so weird for this caliber of beer. Fruity English yeast, but also lots of graphite. Well, this is unexpected. Not even getting all that much bourbon character. Spice, I guess, but not the rich, savory character that I'd prefer. Salty, floral, hoppy, spicy. Good viscosity, though not syrupy or sweet. Pepper, graphite, vanilla, more sharp, strong Blantons than Willett. It's soft, it's malty, it's bourbony but it's just so weird. Perhaps secretly the best barleywine ever made.
Aroma is bourbon, rich, thick, creamy. Lots of barrel notes, light hops, caramel, vanilla, light spicy notes. This is nice but is it worth the hype??
