Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up somewhere random years ago, maybe an Oddbins, think it was like 2014/15. Beer is BBE July 2016. Pours black-brown with a dense, creamy tan head. Shows some age but is still in great shape. Holds modest sweetness, rich ashy roast, old burnt wood, baking cocoa, scorched earth, light iodine. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Only mild warmth in the finish, quite dry, some bitter coffee, more bitter baking cocoa, lingering drying ashy roast. Solid, toothy impy.

Eebria. Bottle. Sold cheap as it had expired. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy, smooth and dry with decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, fair bit of licorice. Modest dark fruits. Salty licorice. Mild bourbon biscuit and a touch of malt cream. Interesting.

The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, liquorice, coffee grounds, juicy, plum, date, fruit cake and some warming alcohol with a dry, toasty finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Rich and rather quaffablex. Good Juan.
