Gueuze by Andy de Brouwer.
One-Time batch of 550 unique bottles of Gueuze raised on 3 extremely old quarter-cask Sherry buts. (1 Amontillado, 1 Oloroso, 1 Palo-Cortado).
Blend with 1/4 young Lambics to start the second fermentation. Each bottle is unique and numbered. Enjoy after decanting on cellar temperature.

Bottle shared round Dan and Megan’s. Trevor brought this I think. Clean foamy lively overall with well balanced soft funk and deep intense Sherry and barrel notes. Impressive.

Pours unclear blonde. Small white head. Scent is intense , wood , funk, oxidative sherry. nutty. Taste is full, very sherry forward. Loads of minerality, oxidative notes, nuts, mild bitterness, fairly intense sourness, which is balanced. Higher carbo - not too high though. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Very sherry-heavy without being simple or straight forward. I had very high expectations, and this did not let me down, at all !

Bottle 186/550. Color: Clear golden, long lasting white head. Nice lacing. Aroma: Fruity Sherry, grape. Wood. Rural funk. Taste: Moderate to over moderate tart, very clearly present Sherry. Fruity grape, white berries and hints of citrus. Oak wood, tannins. Some rural funk notes. Very nice complexity. Sherry is a bit overwhelming, in a good way. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Long lasting dry-ish and fruity finish. Very nice! Glad that I've got the chance to get a bottle of this one.
