Hokum, dialled up to 11!! Huge malt character with lashings of heavy caramel, dark chocolate, coffee and toast. The darker roast, with the alcohol and hop aroma provide layers of raspberry, cherry and dried cranberry. Finishing hefty and rich with a waft of gently warming alcohol and some bitter dark chocolate. We use proportionally less specialty malt in this imperial version than Hokum or Hokum cask. This is because the high alcohol brings so much body and richness and we don't want the beer to be cloying or overly sweet. We co-pitched some highly alcohol tolerant yeast to ferment this beer to give our house yeast a helping hand and reach that heady 10%.

CBJ bottle share, thanks to Fergus for the can. Near clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Soft smooth palate, a very mild dryness, reasonable fine carbonation. Light bodied dark malts, some earthy coffee and mild roast. Thin dark malt cream. Bruised red berries. Airy finish. Drinks very easy if not the most luxurious flavour palate.
