Draught @ District Brew Yards, Chicago (Aug 2023). Clear copper-dark amber with a small frothy off-white head, caramel malt aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter caramel malt taste, faint nutty flavor, thin body, long caramel malt finish. Smooth Festbier.

12oz can. Filtered oorange-copper body. Big, classic, spicy noble hop aroma, some brewhouse as well..but some off pungent tones as well. Doesn't really nail it in terms of lagering..has more fruity amber malt tones, drinks more like an ale. Really not that impressive of an offering at all, vomit off infection tones grow as it warms. Shabby.

4 oz. taster at Atlas. Light amber color with a persistent thin layer of foam. Amber malt smell, but then I taste it: a big peppery German hop taste. By now I’m talking to the brewmaster, who says, no it’s not dry- or fresh-hopped, and it’s been in the tank 3-1/2 months. Well, I’m not used to big hops in any Okto, but I am a hop fan even if it might drive a beer off the style sheet.
