Sometimes things happen.
Things like riding an armadillo.
Bamarillo uses the same grist bill as Bam Bière, but with half the amount of Crystal and Cascade hops. Amarillo hops were added in place for their rich, tropical fruit qualities. Bamarillo was aged in an oak foeder for three months, and in the final month of aging, pineapple puree was added to accentuate the hops fruity characteristics. Before packaging, Bamarillo was dry hopped with both Crystal and Amarillo hops. A fruity, dry, and drinkable ale. Bamarillo is there for you to make things happen.
One day Bam went down to Texas.
Praying for surf.
He didn’t set out to ride an armadillo.
Who does, really?
He didn’t set out to have a veritable sea of chestnut trees either.
But along the road to Amarillo dry hopped saison, things happen.
Things like riding an armadillo.
And naming it Ben. Ben the armadillo.
Ben there, done that.
Cheers & Mahalo plenty!

375mL bottled 5/11/18, drunk 10/18/18.
Good clarity (not like pictured here), leaving the sediment behind. White head is small, feeble. Body is a brassy-gold-peach.
Nose is filled with well-developed Brett and moderate lactic acidity, with complexities from fruit and hop, the latter being quite mild and showing no aggressive resin/pine/intense citrus character. There's definitely a bit of grapefruit juice and meyer lemon, but it's woven in nicely with the Brett. Whether this is the case when the beer doesn't have 5 months of age on it is difficult to tell, but at least now, it's well-aged and homogenized. No alcohol or flaw noted.
In the mouth there are interludes of juicy pineapple throughout, with well-attenuated, honey-tinged malts, light biscuit and tons of juicy lime, leather and light band-aid-like Brett. Sourness is held at bay by the malt and fruit and it never gets puckering, even, which is good to see - many JP beers in recent past being acid bombs. Carbonation is tight and there is no alcohol or flaw. Really impressed how well the Brett has developed and is expressed here.

375 mL bottle poured, courtesy of mcberko. Thanks! Plenty of funk and citrus fruit on the aroma. Plenty of tart going on. At what point does a saison become a sour. Pretty equal with citrus tart and citrus hops. Pleasant. Very nice.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral dry hopping, barnyard funk, light brett and saison yeast. Flavour is quite bitter, with lots of bitter dry hopping, funky brett yeast, and light floral notes. Bone dry, quite pronouncedly bitter, and dry. A little harsh, but it's solid.
