Now we're running! Imperial March stop 4. All I love about stouts. Rich, roasty, bit of coffee and chocolate. Then add the barrel oak, vanilla etc. Sublime! Shout out to Freddie from Matlock, who is visiting York today and decided to have this as well.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Black with a small light-brown head. Boozy enough in both aroma and taste but has good developing vanilla notes that linger in its aftertaste.

Black beer, thin tan head. Smells of sweet spirits, plus caramel, vanilla and coffee. Flavour is sweet with the same qualities, plus a whack of coffee and a little anise, with the marsala and bourbon lending sweet warmth but also an alcohol edge to balance out what could have been sickly. There's some tonka and warming spice in here too, laced through a rich body. This is big, warming, boozy and very hearty.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 30/11/24. Lighter shade of black with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl and edgework. Nose is chocolate cake, toasted brown sugars, toffee fudge, mellow roast, boozy twang. Taste comprises roast malts, sticky fruit rinds, brown sugars, molasses, maple syrup, bourbon barrel, liquorice, chocolate. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid well balanced impy ... runs a touch sweet but maintains itself well with a good barrel tone.

8th November 2024 Can. Near clear dark brown beer, decent bubbly tan head. Fairly airy palate, smooth and mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Smooth dark malts, decent fruity chocolate vibes, a touch of cocoa dusting. The twin barrel blending dominates and a nice blend it is to. The ripe fruity richness of the bourbon barrel finds good synergy with the sticky ripe sweets honeyish fruits of the Marsala barrel. A little woody barrel savoury character on back end along with some oaky vanilla and alcohol spice. Yeah, this works well. Rich, flavoursome, off the beaten track and pretty drinkable.

Tried at the Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Thick black colour with a tan head. Aroma and taste are rich malty and slight sweet some chocolate. Full body.
