Can. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, fairly light, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy pale malts a nice light creamy sweetness. Nelson Sauvin hops, as I have been banging on about for years, are not what they used to be. They got popular, rightly so, and I would put your mortgage on the fact that their terroir changed a lot as demand grew and the hop cultivation area grew far and wide in New Kiwiland. They lost that strident white wine intensity, almost white port when used in abundance. I don't know where Phantom got their hops from but there is a winey vibe, about half as strong as it used to be but a fuck load better than it has been for years. Soft pine. Some nice mildly tart Gooseberry is another major indicator of Nelson goodness. Fair bit of skunk, grassy cannabis. A more modern aspect of NS. Light hop spice on the finish. Lovely job. Properly hoppy and has enough original Nelson Sauvin character to make an old soak like me very happy!
