Bottle at home in Hackney - unsure where I picked this up. BBE 04 17. Pours clear light golden brown with a modest, foamy off-white head. A bit of age but really not bad, just some softened edges, light oxidation. Holds nicely toasted malts, some pine, citrus peel, nips of dry toffee, earthy hops. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes fairly dry, with further toasted malts, mellow toffee, restrained bitterness. Good beer overall.

Keg at Beavertown. It pours dark brown with a small off - white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, dark chocolate, coffee grounds, dark fruits and light spice. The taste is bitter, rich roasted malts, ashy, charred wood, cacao nibs, coffee grounds and earth with a dry, roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty flavoursome. One of the best beers I’ve had from Sambrooks
