Bottle at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clear deep mahoaganny brown with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy, woody, toasted malt, bit of funk/dirt, must, Irn Bru and jam. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, juicy fruits, toasted grain, wood earth, toffee and stewed apple with a slick and warming finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Pretty good fun.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s and Ruth pre GBBF shindig, August 5, 2017. Pours amber, quite clear .Grainy bitterish nose, rowans. Bread dough with rye. Taste is syrupy although not that sweet. Rye spices are quite strong. Overall bit harsh but can drink this.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Hazy dark russet dark red colour lasting beige head. Rich malty aroa with a touch of puke malty sweet. Toast. Some jammy fruit. Just not great in aroma. Good in mouth like the other beers from this brewery and some bitter hops on the finish. Its like semilina and jam on aroma reminds me of school desserts and makes me want to vomit. Rest of thd beer is very decent. Good jammy fruit good pippy hoppy bitterness. Just cant get past that aroma.

Medium if stable yellow-cream head over clear ruby-garnet still beer. Cake, red grapes, wine, waffle’s syrup, red & dried fruit, ureum. Head carries a lot of hopbitter. Alcohol & fusels, cake & syrup, again dried fruit (figs, banana, raisins,...) Finish still has some hops (New World?). Serious body, faint alcoholwarming, sticky. Carbonation is all but absent, but it doesn’t come over as disturbing. Quite decent Barley Wine. Silly name.
