Rich and punchy but well balanced. Some raisins, stewed dark fruits, burnt toffee, roast, ash and earth. Wood. Actually pretty well balanced. Solid.

Bottle shared at craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. Many thanks. A opaque black brown coloured pour with halo of light tan. Aroma is semi sweet earthy, peanut butter, brown sugars, jammy fruits. Rich, rounded. Blueberry. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, medium sweet. Brown sugars, oily, sticky. Lovely. Very rounded,

CBJ bottle share, thanks to LKS for the bottle. Opaque black brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Very rich dark malts, some dark chocolate. Soft but earthy coffee that gets mildly bitter. Maple fruity richness, not at all sweet a bit sherry PX. A really nice richness.

375mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has some green peppers, vanilla beans, and a touch of molasses. Flavour is much better, with a nice mix of vanilla and medium roast coffee, with a touch of molasses. Medium-bodied for an impie, with good balance. Good stuff.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Very dark brown with no head. Mild bourbon, vanilla, light coffee, not the most integrated, coffee could be better quality. Still decent.

375ml (thx, Alex M.-G.!) @ Matt's 🏡 shared with Ryan during a Christmas gathering. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: sweet coffee and vanilla, some American oak. Taste: nice body, sweet, some coffee and somehow like a maple syrup notes (probably a mix of coffee and vanilla makes it). Overall: good enough.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong coffee ground, cocoa, vanilla, wood. Slick body, vanilla, molasses, cocoa, roast, boozy finish, very good.

375mL bottle drunk 7/29/23. Clearish. Violet-garnet highlight on the edges. No head. Fruit? More apple and strawberry than anything. Fruity coffee I guess? Weird stuff. Maybe a hint of alcohol...is the fruitiness from the vanilla? Soft and chocolatey, prune, raisin, caramel, dark roast. Very fruity, moderately sweet. Caramel, prune, raisin again. Where's the vanilla?? Definitely syrupy, fruity and intense but ultimately a bit too jammy-fruity-plummy-sweet. These guys are making some of the best lagers and IPAs out there right now, but are a pretty hard 0 for 3 on barleywines and stouts (Abyssalism, Sea of Stones and this). Strange.
