This limited edition variation on our original “Palmovka 12°” Pilsner pays tribute to the origins of the style and the rich tradition of Plzň by featuring two heirloom yeast strains, floor malted Czech Pilsner malt, and whole leaf Czech Saaz hops. Decocted, and boiled adhering to a Czech-style schedule and lagered extensively in one of our horizontal tanks. Notes of fresh baked bread and floral hops hold sway, and an expressive yeast character melds with light honey and hay on the palate. Palmovka Speciální has a soft mouthfeel with crisp carbonation that beckons for another sip. Na zdraví!

Can at home. Gold pour fairly clear some floaters and foamy head. Nose is floral, peppery, and bready. Tastes of yeasty bread, pepper, honey, mineral, some wine residue. Mouthfeel little oily and medium bodied. Tasty

16 oz can. Appearance shows a nearly clear golden / orange color. Aroma is soft baked bread. The flavor profile is that of a great Czech Pilsner. Pils malt backbone, giving baked bread nuances. Finish displays mild grassy Saaz hops. Texture is crisp with a clean finish. Great brew!

Canned 060523, drunk 7/6/23. Blonde-to-brass, clear. Small, white head to ring. Honey-like malts are deep, with all sorts of mineral, earth, cellar, must, etc...from the yeast. Bit of pear, bit of white grape, touch of dusty herb and pepper. The malt sweetness accentuates everything, yet doesn't overbear. Clean. Inviting. Oh yeah. Lemon-accented honey with earthy mineral, dusty herb, black pepper and a finish of white grape, unripe apple and soft, pillowy malts. Tight carbonation and low but ample bitterness balance and it's just attenuated enough to help the balance, while still being satisfyingly malty. Clean, all sorts of crazy yeast character. Love it.

16oz can pours a clear gold with some creamy white head. Nose has malt and grist, honey and bread dough, some dusty field notes. Flavor is just doughy and gristy, some lemony hop, but the grist and the yeast really shine. Finishes solidly medium bodied with a near creaminess you don't expect. Really nice tip of the cap to the traditional Czech brewers.

Pours clear gold into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to nothing. Cracker and hay aromas. Crisp with sweet hay and biscuit front to back. Mild earth finish.
