Bottle 1499/2000, drunk 2/10/24. Clear, mahogany-burgundy. No head. Cherry, fermented grape. Chocolate, hint of cigar, light vanilla. Very mellow, round, aromatic. Clean. Malty, with earth, coffee, cigar, long grape and sherry-like oxidation. Juicy finish with good balance, good attenuation and no booze. So frickin mellow, wow. Gets a bit bready, and I'd prefer a bit more intensity of malt and less earthiness. Hard to complain though.

500 ml bottle shared by Chalumeaux, Thanks TJ! # 1136 / 2000 bottled from the Catador Club. Aroma has mellow cognac, oak, and toasted toffee. The flavor is the aroma. Oak, cognac, toasted caramel. A hint of raisins. Well rounded barley wine.
