Brewed with our friends from Cohesion Brewing Co. in Denver, Colorado, this lower-alcohol-by-volume interpretation of a traditional Tmavé Pivo was brewed with specialty malts from their home and ours. This dark ruby red lager has notes of cocoa nibs, lightly toasted walnuts and a touch of caramel. Czech Saaz hops provide a light herbal hop character.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to lager glass.
Appearance: dark amber/burnt mahogany color with a two and a half fingers of off-white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: white bread, dark bread, herbal & earthy notes; cocoa powder; light toast and some yeasty note going on
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a fairly sweet cocoa to earthy and herbal to bready quality; finishes dark bready and herbal
Texture: light to medium bodied, very sessionable; pretty smooth along the tongue; good carb level
Overall: nicely done Munich Dunkel lager well worthy of coming back to.

4 pack, canning date illegible (early October) drunk over the course of the month, last can on 10/31/24. Clear, deep amber-maple. Large, beige head, well-retained. Chocolate, bread crusts, mild herbs, light, mineral-rich yeast and moderate, but not overly toasted bread. Clean and very aromatic. Soft, chocolatey, bready, with light maple, raisins and toast, but not as sweet or dry/scratchy as any of that sounds. Just a soft, drinkable, very balanced beer with elegant fruit and chocolate notes. Outrageously drinkable for its size. Very satisfying, clean and well-executed.

Samples at Snally2024. Pours a very murky, nut brown with a big cap of off white head. Nose has malt and brown bread. Earthy. Flavor has some coffee grounds and dark bread. Super easy drinker with a ton of character.

16 oz can. Aroma is cola, molasses, light cocoa. Flavor is similar with bold base malt, and soft sweetness in the finish. The mouthfeel has a dryness that counters the sweetness. A real nice level of malt depth. Excellent for the style of the beer!
