Four Star is a wet-hopped Tree House pilsner brewed with pale malts and fresh Centennial hops grown and cared for by our friends, Four Star Farms in Massachusetts.

The hops were added to the beer just a few hours following harvest on a dreary Monday morning, and before long the beer came alive with sunny notes of fresh lemon and pine.

Can pour. Hazy golden yellow with light sparkle, quickly fading head to ring and no lacing. Aroma is malt over light fruity spice (almost like ginger). Taste is pale malt mild citrus, bittering hops. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Pretty ho hum.

12 oz. can. Thanks to TJ or Clark. Clear golden color. Aromas of light Saaz like hop, honey, and earth. Flavor is mild Pils malt to give a subtle honey hint, mild earthy hop finish. Exceptional balance of malt and hop. Clean finish.

Charlton draught, 8/29/24. Bright brass-golden. Small, creamy, moderately-well-retained, white head. Earthy, not very aromatic, vaguely spicy hop notes. Smells like MA hops alright! Clean malts show hints of honey and bread. Malty up front with white bread and biscuit. Some herbal and peppery character through the middle with a malt reprise. Not super snappy and a bit rounder than I'd prefer, but clean and flavorful, for sure. Hops are better than the nose suggests. Nice to use local, but just not a fan of Four Star Farms hops (or their beers).
