The Emerald Necklace series tells a foundational piece of the Trillium Brewing story. If you’ve visited our home of Boston, you’ve likely encountered and enjoyed a section of the Emerald Necklace. Beginning downtown at the Boston Common and Public Garden, extending out to Back Bay, and all the way to Dorchester, this 1,100 acre, the seven-mile-long public park system is a cherished green oasis in the heart of the city. Years ago, JC cultivated a plot in the Fenway Victory Gardens, where he grew edible and decorative plants, trees, and even some hop bines!

Located on a 281-preserve between Jamaica Plain and Roslindale, the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is truly a living museum. With a focus on the floras of eastern North America and eastern Asia, this beautiful park is free and open daily to those of all ages.

Pouring a rich, golden yellow with a warm and inviting haze, DDH Arnold Arboretum's amped up Citra/Galaxy hop bill offers an array of citrus-meets-stone fruit aromas that we know and love. Navel orange peel, sweet canned peach, apricot nectar, and pineapple gummies weave in and out throughout each sip. Never leaning too hard in the direction of sweetness or bitterness, Arnold Arboretum boasts a soft mouthfeel and medium body.

Opaque and pale, thin head. Weedy aroma with stone fruit notes. Mostly galaxy and I’m here for that.

Draft 6 oz pout at the Bine, Bothell. Over a buck an ounce for this one, so I'm breaking my usual rule, but perhaps I need to adjust for inflation this year. Dense orange juice haze. Patchy head and lacing. A ton of citrus notes and some peach punch jump out on aroma. Very galaxy like. Slick body, smooth taste. Very low bitter and very hop forward with very little malt impression, if any at all. Barely chalky, so good there. Long lingering stone fruit. Easy drinking for a borderline imperial. This is good, but I'm further convinced that the west coast is the best coast.

Tap at Ale Arsenal. Pours hazy yellow with small off white head and large patterns. Aroma is tropical fruit and hard candy. Flavor is juicy on the first half with a funky grittiness on the back half, presumably from the DDH. Slight bitterness.

Fort Point draught, 7/8/24. Kind of another one of these very bitter, too bitter, very undermalted head scratchers that make you wonder how Trillium releases some of the IPAs they do and then also release this crap. Chalky, borderline astringent due to lack of pleasure maltiness. Simplistic and uninteresting hops. Barely choked down the 5oz sample.

On draft at Dominion. Pours a cloudy straw with an off white head. Aromas are nectarines and peach. Flavors are moderately bitter mixed citrus. Another nice one from Trillium.
