Barley Wine aged in Bourbon Barrels
Over the years, Paragon has become one of our flagship beers. What makes our barley wine special is that it is always brewed with the exact same recipe, but each edition is unique due to a number of factors, barrel types and environmental factors to say it briefly. In 2023, we used fresh, high-char Jim Beam barrels in which the beer matured for one year. We think the result is pretty awesome and can best be described as a Kentucky hug. Enjoy – it’s a great year for Paragon.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Paragon 2023 By Rackhouse on 31 Mar 2025 at 22:12 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Sweet and toasted malty with lots of sticky molasses, toffee and caramel malty sweetness, some spices, layers of dried fruit, nice mouthfeel and body, whisky oak washed accents and more spices into the warming lingering malty finish. Gorgeous.

Sample from bottle at Remko's bierproefavond 20dec2024. Didn't take notes, preferred the nice company. Remember this to be a very nice and well balanced one, just like I remember from the 2018 edition I've had before.
