Bottle. Clear amber with a nice beige head, that's the best part. Not much aroma here, just hint of plain malt. The taste is really boring, where did the malt from the god locking body go? No roast, no toast, no malty sweetness really, not even much caramel and no bitterness. Tastes more than less like an industrial pilsner of discount qualities. Thumbs down!

Mediocre brown. Nice nutty malt biscuitiness. But it is a bit thin and boring. Slightly acrid. Anarkist copenhagen

English style brown ale by this old Danish brewery, from tap at Seaside Toldboden in the northeast of Copenhagen. Ecru-coloured, medium thick, quite creamy, closed and stable head, clear pale caramel brown robe with coppery glow and some visible sparkling. Aroma of hard caramel, brown bread crust, iron shavings, dry teabags, autumn leaves, nutmeg, lightly toasted peanuts, dried prunes. Sweetish but clean, non-estery onset, some dried fig perhaps, medium carbonated, slick mouthfeel; caramelly malt sweetishness with a nutty edge but also something clearly metallic, becoming stronger in the end. A whiff of herbal, tea- and nutmeg-like hop bitterness adds sufficient dryness and spiciness to the finish to counter the maltiness, but the caramel flavour prevails, though in a not overly sweet way. Generally dryish but indeed very ‘English’ brown ale, even stereotypical for the style; highly accessible and perhaps a good introduction for amateur beer drinkers who distrust dark beers (those unfortunately still exist)…
