Salford RED - A modern take on a classic beer style, it has a wonderfully deep red colour that comes from the speciality cara and crystal malts. We use a mixture of chinook and columbus in this beer to bring a nice pine aroma and flavour to the deep body of the beer. Cascade is also used to add a slight grapefruit edge and round out the aroma and flavour profile.

330ml bottle bought at Piccadilly Tap. Clear amber body, bubbly beige head, spotty lacing. Caramel-fruity nose, lightly spiced. Blended taste profile of dark fruits and brittle caramel. Roasted malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Well balanced. Nice. (Student flat, Leeds 03.07.2017).

330ml can. Red amber colour, good sized tan foam head leaving lacing and aroma of grains, spicy. Taste is malt, grainy, toasted, slightly roasty, with alittle biscuit, and some tangy spicy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry grainy finish. Quite drinkable.

(Cask at Harp, Charing Cross, London, 27 Nov 2015) Reddish amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with citrus, grapefruit and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, caramel, crisp-bread, a touch of resin and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made. Nice one.

Cask @ Knott Bar, Manchester. Amber with a copper glow. Malty and grainy tasting with the latter dominant and quite raw in its taste, but tasty. Has a thin head.
