50cl bottle pours with a copper to amber colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up soft modest smooth smoke, sweet malts, dates and molasses. The taste delivers sweet malts; a mild molasses nuanced roasted maltiness and then a blend of mild smoke and sweet dark fruity esters. This is pretty nice where the thin body and growing smoke head into the finish.

On tap at Stateside Craft, pours a cloudy amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is lightly smoked, with stone fruits in back. Flavour brings out lightly smoked malt, a touch of caramel, light stone fruits, and light wood. Not overly interesting, but well-balanced. Decent but nothing special.

Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours a lightly orange tinged gold with a slight white head. Aroma seems a bit peppery/smoky. Med body. Not sure about pepper, but there’s smoke and it seems a bit spicy. Very flavorful. Not at all bitter. Quite different but tasty. Nothing extreme at all, but it’s different.

Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is butterscotch, raisins, and a hint of smoke. Lightly hazed rust brown with a medium, lightly lacing offwhite head. Flavor is lightly sweet with honts of dark fruit and smoke.
