Dark and smooth but with a generous bitterness nestling amongst a body of malted caramel sweetness. Bramling Cross hops deliver pepper and blackcurrant on the nose - one to be sunk or savoured, the choice is yours!

Bottle from beer 52 some time ago. It pours pretty much black with a thick tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, bitter - sweet, baking cocoa, chocolate cake, coffee grounds, decent hit of liquorice and some lightly toasted spice. The taste is dry roasted malt, bitter - sweet, big liquorice vibes, milk chocolate, cacao nibs, filter coffee, roasted malt and some dark fruit notes kicking about. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. A perfectly reasonable porter. Decent.

Bottle. Nose, is roast, slightly fruity. Taste is earthy, roast, dry finish, chocolate, hint of coffee and fruit. It's a perfectly acceptable porter.

33cl bottle from the April Beer52 box. A glossy pitch black pour with a tight coffee coloured head; rich chocolate aroma with a touch of vanilla; complex in the mouth with some well done toast, but also smooth milky chocolate; and a pleasant spicy bitterness and some heavily roasted grains to finish. A rather good porter.
