Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy tan head and good lacing. There’s roast malts and vanilla in the aroma, along with some milky coffee. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with vanilla again to the fore. After a while some underlying bitterness can be detected, along with caramel, fudge and honey. Sweetness lasts into the slightly dry finish This is decent.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 1st June 2023. Mahogany black with yellow green tinged tan foam and full lacing. Rich and intense coffee and burnt caramel aroma. Richly roasty in-mouth with notes of citrusy fruits and velvet caramel. Black coffee and brown sugar caramel finish. Medium bodied with a velvet smooth mouthfeel. Wholly exquisite. Best stout I’ve drunk in 2023 so far!

Cask @ Vocation & Co, Hebden Bridge. Very dark with a light brown creamy head. Has some coffee in aroma, but it gets properly stated in taste with plenty of chocolate in the mix too - all quite crisp tasting for its strength.
