Gravity cask at the Rock Bar and Cafe, near Whitwick, Coalville. Part of their 'From Sussex with Love' festival, July 2022. Brownish gold and clear with no head. Malty and toffee aroma with berry notes, orange peel and hay. Sweet taste with caramel to the fore and well-judged bitterness in the finish. Oily, flat body. A very well-made bitter.

Pours a lightly hazed amber colour with a small thin off-white head. The aroma is malty, biscuity and caramel with some fruity notes. A moderately sweet and malty taste, sweet biscuit and caramel, and ripe fruit flavours and fruity hops in a bittersweet finish.

From tap at White Horse on Parson’s Green, London, 29.01.22. Amber golden. Some off-white head. Well-balanced and interesting taste of pale malt, crystal malt, plum jam and dried berries - all balanced with moderate bitterness.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 18th August 2021. Coppery amber with shallow off-white foam and spot lacing. Richly malty aroma with nuttiness - hazelnut. Tangy fruits, leafy hoppiness and nutty malts in-mouth, and a finish of of bitter grassiness and sweet, nutty malts. Velvet smooth mouthfeel and a light to medium body. A very well crafted ale. And yes it is that good.
