Nice golde color. Light sour, tart nose with a touch of underlying sweetness. Lemon, citrus, oak nose. Light medium body, decent sourness with good oak character. Fairly approachable. Not massively complex, but enjoyable.

Bottle shared at home. Black glass and white doodle edition. Slightly unclear golden with white head. Sweet hay, sour grain, peachy fruity, mild sour, touch of vanilla, oak, herbal and light floral hop. Quite nice little picnic on my tongue. Medium body and soft carbonation. Nothing but love.

0.5 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in February 2018. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, slightly funky and quite fruity aroma of lemon, rhubarb, gooseberry, white grapes, leather and some barnyard. A bit sweet, quite sour, rather fruity and slightly funky taste of lemon, gooseberry, barnyard, leather, some vinegar and traves of red wine, followed by a medium long, quite tart, gently woody-dry, moderately funky finish. Very pleasant, not too sour, quite complex as well. Really nice beer by Oedipus, I wasn't too fond of their Sours before but this one is pretty good!

Oedipus ‘golden sour’ made for an American art gallery called Torch, sampled at Foeders in Amsterdam during Carnivale Brettanomyces. Open, thinly moussy, off-white, loose ring on a hazy peach blonde beer with very deep orange hue. Aroma of dry gherkins or overripe cucumbers, raw pineapple, green pear, yoghurt, dried mango, sourdough, rhubarb and a whiff of fermenting white cabbage – quite a weird combo, but for me it kind of works. Fruity onset, very grapey and rhubarb-like, tart with a sharper lemony accent but sweetish in its core especially when the soft, fluffy, bready malt body gets more exposure in the middle; medium carbo, pleasant mouthfeel dried by a wine-like tartness and very soft 'wet woodiness'. Unusual – if not so much unreal – salted gherkin-like touch in the finish, adding a bit of Oedipus eccentricity, but for me all these pieces fall together quite well in the end, though my opinion on this was not necessarily shared by the other tasters. Daring, interesting and highly drinkable all at the same time, this is Oedipus at its core.

Cloudy blond with thin head. Aroma and flavour are really tart and funky. Lots of winey sharpness. Fine carbonation. Really tangy and easy to drink.
