Keg at Mother Kelly’s - Bethnal Green, London. Pours brown with a foamy, beige head. The aroma holds toasted bread, dark berries, faint tobacco. Light sweet flavour with notes of ripe, leathery berries, a little earth, faint tang, brown bread. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more tangy, old berries, minimal roast, bread. Not inspiring.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and fairly crisp. Thin dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. Mild dark fruits. Bourbon went through on stilts. Light dry finish. Nice idea but lacks boldness for me.

Keg at The London Beer House. It pours pretty much black with a medium beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, dark fruits, roasted malt, cocoa and mellow vanilla. The taste is smooth, bitter, rich roasted malts, toast, peppery spice, umami, liquorice, cacao nibs, vanilla and some dark fruits in the background. Finish is dry and lingers. Pretty flavoursome and drinkable.
