Ironmonger is a big, bold American Amber IPA, with American hops leading the charge in this full-bodied beer. A west-coast profile with a good hit of hop bitterness on the finish – not for the faint of heart!

Canned. Amber colour, mediumsized fluffy head, which settles to a smaller creamy one. Aroma is caramel, toffee, some herbal, fruity and mild wooden notes. Flavour is quite bland, but has some wood, toffee, herbs, fruits and mild spruce. Almost too easy going.

Barril, media pinta. Next one please!

Can picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie. Consumed at home unusually having a beer or a Monday night but hey it is Loz’s birthday, Monday 14th November 2016 Pours murky mid brown with a sticky off white head. A little bit perfumey, plenty of maltiness, fruity with a good citrussy bite. Like this. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

28/VI/16 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker) @ the pre-AdamChandler-tasting, Erwin's ponton - BB: 15/XI/16 (2016-706)

Clear dark orange beer, big irregular off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, oxidized, bit sweet, some orange peel, Madeira, marzipan. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malty start, some honey, bit oxidized, caramel malts, soft bitterness, hoppy. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel malts, bitter, little fruity. Either the date on this can is completely wrong, or the BB-date is way to long after canning. Not a bad beer in se, but this has very little to do with an ipa. And calling your beer an ipa as a craft brewer, creates certain expectations, these days.
