Bottle split at L6, thanks to Daniel, 07/02/19. Light black with a well presented tan cap that retains well. Nose is smoked malts, medicinal notes, charred wood, dark fruit rinds, booze fumes. Taste comprises dark toffee, bonfire notes, cocoa sprinkle, mellow Laphroaig barrel, dried fruits, charr, molasses. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, light boosty nip at the curtain call. Ok stuff.

On tap at Thomas Tallis Canterbury. Black beer lasting tan head. Wow that's got quite a lot of peaty whisky. Yes some drying dark chocolate. but more or less on my limit of peat. Hides and well. just a bit too peaty for me.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours clear, deep brown with a small, foamy tan head. Strong woody character, plenty drying, some ashy roast, baking cocoa, earth, mellow smokey accents. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with soft carbonation. Warming finish, more touched wood dryness, bittersweet baking cocoa, ash, alcohol. Hearty stuff. Old school. Not bad.
