Cask-conditioned at the Swan, York 21/8/2018. Deep brown in colour, with a foamy, off-white, head. Rich milk chocolate and dried fruit sweetness, slightly toasty malts and some leafy hops before a moderately dry finish. Enjoyable.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry and with decent fine carbonation. Dry but otherwise in nice condition. Tangy thin dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. Decent dark fruits and a little hop spice. Light dry finish. Okay but too dry.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours dark brown with a medium white head. The aroma is toasty, earthy, wood, cocoa, earth and dried fruits. The taste is bitter - sweet, dried fruits, earthy, toasty, charred wood, twiggy, leather and ash with a drying and woody finish. Not exactly a contemporary feeling black IPA, more of a bitter stout. Pretty ho hum stuff.
