Even though we have a lot of experience with ageing beer in barrels, we never used other wood products. Fortunately, our friend Jamil Zainasheff knocked on our door with Sugar Maple Wood spirals. Together we designed a beer around this intriguing wood. With cocoa nibs, vanilla and maple syrup we complemented the woodsy notes of toasted marshmallow and mixed nuts. Best served at a temperature of 12°C.

TCBW2024. Black colour, small brown head. Aromai s sugary, syrupy, some wooden tones with chocolate and mild toasted tones. Flavour is wooden, some syrupy, sugary, alcohol and mild toasted nutty elements with a bit of marshmallows and vanilla to it as well.

Sample@TCBW2024. Opaque colour and small brownish head. Sweetish peanut aroma. Full-bodied. Sweetish, a bit lame, not much going on. Some peanut, alcohol. Dissaointing.

440 ml can. Pours black with full dark tan head. Aromas of powdery dark chocolate, vanilla, creamy coffee, marshmallows and slick roasted malts. Flavors of caramel, nuts, vanilla, rich chocolate syrup and oily roasted malts. A little spicy heat on the finish which cuts the sweetness. Just like a 12% O’Henry bar.
