Colchester Beer Festival. Cask. Hazy gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light malts, plenty of rye tang. Yellow grapefruit. Little spice. Floral vibe with some tangerine. Light finish leaves a tangy linger. Nice enough.

Keg at Salt Horse. Not as funky as some of their numbers! Pours light hazy pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus and white pepper. Taste is dry, zingy citrus and spicy yeast notes. Clean, dry finish.

Gravity cask at the 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Blonde and hazy with a plentiful natural carbonation and a small white head. Aroma of pear drops, spicy saison yeast, and light notes of toffee. Bitter taste with a funky sour hit. This is a tiny bit too intense in the exceedingly dry finish. Acrid in the aftertaste but there’s the punchiness the rye to balance. Despite some issues this is an enjoyable and engaging drink.

Cask at the Saints Beer & Folk Festival, Ipswich. Pours hazy yellow gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus fruit, yeast, light rye, hop, lemon and grapefruit. Light sweetness, medium bitterness, moderate sour. Light body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Finish is dry, slightly sour and bitter fruit.
