Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2023, Olympia, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, bitter/dry, spice. Rather hard work this one.

Fra cask på GBBF aug-23. Dagens siste øl, også denne delt med min trofaste følgesvenn Steven: brunsvart med ok skum. Røstet malt, furunål, kaffe, ristet (på grensen til brent) brød. Tørr og underkarbonert men allikevel riktig velsmakende.

Cask at GBBF 2023 - Day 1. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy khaki head. Medium sweet flavour with burnt toast, bitter cocoa and earth, charred earth and pine. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Bitter finish, more cocoa, earth, pine. Sound.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Very hazy brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Slightly thin dark malts, decent creamy sweetness and a trace of ash. Good pine and spicy hops, some ripe citrus and a trace of berry fruits. Quite a hop spicy finish. Spicy linger. Good CDA.

6 oz. taster pour at the brewery. It's an opaque dark, dark brown (virtually black) with light sparkle at the edges of the glass, ring of beige head with excellent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is moderately strong roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is nice, strong roasted earthy malts with milk chocolate. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not super complex but excellent aroma and flavor for the style.
