Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a thick beige head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of cocoa and charred pineapple. Flavour of blueberry and milk chocolate. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. I donโ€™t think Mosaic is the honest suited to this style but itโ€™s still a very tasty and well made beer.

Missed last time. Brewed/bottled Feb 26. Roasted malty with dark chocolate, singed brown sugar, touch of coffee roast, lovely robust mosaic hoppy notes coming through, pine needles, nice body and mouthfeel, solid roasted malty and hoppy finish. Lovely.

29/4/2023. Bottle shared by Colin, cheers. Pours clear black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Good-looking beer. Aroma of cocoa, dates, berries, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, pine, ash, chocolate orange, strawberry and tea. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Very good.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the brewery taproom. Pours black-brown with a thick and lasting beige froth topping. Medium sweet flavour, gorgeous burnt pine, baking cocoa, torched meat, ash, earth. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation and velvety texture. Bittersweet finish, layered dark malts, more cocoa, pine, orange rind, meat. Superb.

On cask at Kernel taproom, Bermondsey, London. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee taste and aroma with a slight sweetness. Excellent Kernel porter on cask and so drinkable. I could drink a lot of this.

Cask at Arch 7 kernel tap. An opaque, jet black coloured pour with a steadfast mid tan head. Aroma is nice rich earthy roast, waxy, chestnut, light Ash, rubber, leather book. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded layered malts, toast, some ashy roast, some singed pine, rubber, woody sap. Palate is semi sweet, soft, easy going, excellent cask condition.

Bottle at home, picked up from Mother Arch II, 12/02/23. Black with a big old lasting khaki head. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, light coffee bean, mellow roast, charr, dried fruit rinds, raisins. Taste comprises roasted bite, chocolate biscuit, charr, fruit slice, molasses, brown sugar dusting, toffee. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close. Solid flavoursome porter allied to the usual Kernel bottling combo of top notch feel and appearance.
